Learn More About Richie Clark Psychology
Mr Richie Clark
Hello there! I’m Richie. I am a clinical psychologist based in Bendigo, Victoria.
I have a strong passion for working with people and helping them meet their full potential. I believe all people have the capacity to grow and heal. Unfortunately, many people struggle to obtain the self-understanding, support, and encouragement they need to reach their full potential. Through my clinical work, I strive to help people move past the difficulties which have kept them stuck so that in time, they can find a level of peace and gratitude in life. I often say in therapy, there is always going to be pain in life, but suffering is optional.
I do not take it for granted how hard it is to reach out for support. Therefore, it is important to me that my clients receive the highest level of care. Whilst supportive counselling is a large part of therapy, we have over 100 years of clinical research invested in helping people overcome their chronic problems, so why not use it!? In line with this, I lean on a variety of evidenced-based therapies to assist my clients. This includes:
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
Schema Therapy, and
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing Therapy, amongst others.
The type of treatment you will require will depend on your presenting concerns and therapy preference.

A Little Bit More About Me…
I completed my Master of Psychology (Clinical) degree at Deakin University in 2019 and have been a psychologist since 2017. Some of the places I have worked and completed training include:
Bendigo Adult Community Mental Health Team (BACMHT).
Bendigo Psychology (Private Practice).
Girton Grammar School (School Psychologist).
Headspace Craigieburn
Camperdown Primary Mental Health Team.
Geelong Primary Mental Health Partners.
These varied roles have given me unique insights into high and low prevalence mental health difficulties and how mental health challenges look across the lifespan. Within these roles, I have provided one-on-one and group therapy for individuals from all walks of life. Importantly, these roles have highlighted the necessity of connection, honesty, and reflection to achieve positive outcomes in therapy. These are things I incorporate into my practice as much as possible.
Some people like to know a little bit more about their psychologist, so here’s a little bit more about me. I grew up in central Victoria in a town of 400 people. I have remained in central Victoria since then and have resided in Bendigo since 2009. I have worked in a variety of different trades and non-mental health roles before becoming a clinical psychologist, which I think has given me a rounded outlook on life and people. Being outdoors is my happy place. I love adventuring and exploring our beautiful country. I enjoy hiking and cycling and sharing in these activities with my young family. I think life is precious and I try to get the most out of it by staying busy and opening myself up to new experiences.
Finding a psychologist, whether it’s for the first time or the tenth time, can be a daunting experience. I try to make this process as easy and transparent as possible, and am more than happy to have a chat over the phone to see if you think we might be a good match.
